Taking a Position on a Controversial Issue- The Persuasive Research Report
Now that you have had practice Analyzing a Visual Argument and Responding to Editorials, it is time to take a position that you most closely agree with on a controversial issue. University, local or state issues tend to work best for this paper. However, a focused national issue is acceptable as a topic for this paper as long as you have a personal stake. Perhaps consider a current event which is getting national media coverage which connects to your experience as a student or citizen in some way.
You should find 4-6 sources for your Persuasive Research Report: at least three in support of your position and at least one that supports the opposing view. Of course, you may use more sources for either your position or the opposition.
It needs Introduction, body part, conclusion and MLA citations. Double space, 12 word size and 4 pages. Please make sure that there will have 4 sources to support as evidence.
