Carbon tetrachloride CCl4 was once used in the cleaning industry before people realized it was a carcinoginic compound. Millions of tons of carbon tetrachloride was made in the 50's by reacting carbon disulfide (CS2) with the diatomic gas chlorine Cl2. The other product was S2CL2. Write the reaction equation and balance it. Answer the following: How many kilograms of carbon tetrachloride can be produced from 1 kilogram of chlorine gas?

a. 0.111 kilograms CCl4

b. 0.329 kilograms CCl4

c. 0.639 kilograms CCl4

d. 0.725 kilograms CCl4

e. 0.997 kilograms of CCl4
