ICT : The Extend Synonym of Information Technology in Education

Information and communications technology (ICT) is regularly used as an extended synonym for information technology (IT), but is a more detailed and specific  term of the information Technology that stresses the role of unified communications and the amalgamation of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), computers as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage, and audio-visual systems, which helps the  users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.

Terminology of Information and communication Technology

The term ICT is also known as the term used to refer to the convergence of audio-visual and telephone networks with computer networks all the way through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic enticements (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to integrate the audio-visual, building management and telephone network with the computer network system using a single combined system of cabling, signal distribution and management.

The term Info communications also used sometimes interchangeably with ICT. In fact Info communications is the extension of telecommunications with information processing and content handling functions on a common digital technology base.

History of Information and communication Technology

The phrase ICT had been defined by academic researchers since the 1980s, but it came to know the people and became popular after it was used in a report to the UK government by Dennis Stevenson in 1997 and in the revised National Curriculum for England, Wales and Northern Ireland in 2000. As of September 2013, the term "ICT" in the UK National Curriculum has been replaced by the broader term "computing"

Information and communication Technology in Education

Information and communication technologies in education elaborate the way of teaching and learning the subject matter that enables understanding the functions and effective use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). The best way to use technology efficiently, educators need to be trained in using technology and they need to develop a good understanding of it. Technology is used to improve learning, therefore it is important for educators to be comfortable using it to ensure that students get the full advantages of educational technology.

Teaching with technology is very different from teaching in a typical classroom. Teachers must be trained and should well known about how to plan, create, and deliver instruction within a technological term. It requires a different tutorial approach. Teachers must find a way to charge up students on what they take away from a class and meaningful, known knowledge, especially within an eLearning setting. Education will only change when our design the methods, perspectives, values change and meaningful senses. Teachers have many roles when instruction is designed and prospected. They can be anything like architects, craftspeople, and engineers. Technology does not mean that using interactive electronic boards and LCD PowerPoint presentation to show of, the Technology mean to elaborate the things in technical manner to get understood by student in simple or effective way.

Roles of Teachers, Researchers and Inventors in ICT Education

They play a significant role in country building by rational power and thinking applied in shaping up the better and glorious future of the young generation which are the students. Teaching with technology has become most effective; technology does not mean that using interactive electronic boards and LCD PowerPoint presentation, its means to better get understand the things which are surrounded to us in this survival world. It also means the model like friccohesity and tentropy or the tools such as oscosurvismeter or the specific design to be taught to the students just because of that they may pick up quickly. Teachers should promote creative approach of the students, for example, current invention of survismeter convey the same meaning of creating new knowledge in society that helps learning and teaching process.

Software which are used in ICT

Geogebra: It is Dynamic mathematics & science software for learning and teaching from Elemantry School to university level. It contains tens of thousands of free material.

Audacity: It is a free, cross-platform and open source software for recording and editing sounds. in October 2013 the new version of Audacity has released.

Cam Studio : It is a software where we are able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)
Stellarium: Stellarium is a software or a free open source for the computers .It shows a realistic sky in the 3D just like what we see with the naked eyes. Its being used in planetarium uses.

Google Earth: It is a map, virtual globe and geographical information program. Google Earth is particular based on 3D maps, with the capability to show 3D buildings and structures (such as bridges)
Picasa: It is the best software for picture editing, cutting or cropping.

Why ICT is important: some important dimension of ICT

ICT/Digital Literacy: Now these days, each and every person needs a basic understanding of ICT and how to make productive use and utilize of it, just to be good students, workers and citizens. The important role of the ICT education of Teaching people how to be competent basic users of ICT technologies, so after that they would be  successful in their academic and work careers, and so they can proficiently participate in modern technical society.

ICT Infrastructure and Support for Applied Technologists: After be a basic user competency, our society also needs more knowledgeable and accomplished technical people to organize, manage and maintain ICT equipment, software and systems, so they can work better for user

Some Special Business and Industry Uses of ICT: As facilitating technologies, ICT is used deliberately in almost all businesses and industries. Many have executed or developed specialized systems and uses of ICT, and many have some special legal and regulatory requirements; Quality control equipment; additions with production and research equipment and systems; security requirements; and software applications.

ICT Research and Development for Scientists: ICT field itself is under constant pressure to develop and improve. ICT need people who deeply understand the science and technologies underlying ICT and who can work some advance in this field.
