The University of Notre Dame Australia now has over 10, 000 students enrolled on its three campuses in Fremantle, Sydney and Broome.
The Notre Dame is a Catholic university awarding undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business, education, science, nursing, arts, health sciences, law, theology, medicine, physiotherapy, and philosophy.
Notre Dame goals to be one of the leading Catholic universities in the world. The University’s partner was the University of Notre Dame in the United States, one of the world’s big Catholic universities, and benchmark for the Notre Dame.
The Objects of the University, as stated in an Act of Parliament, serve to define the unique culture, purpose and identity of Notre Dame as an institution committed to free intellectual inquiry. Specific aims are grouped under the four headings of Excellence in scholarship and research, in teaching, in training for professions, and in pastoral care.
Notre Dame has also assumed a special role in the education, and the service to, the indigenous people of the northern Australia. The Broome Campus is dedicated to reconciliation and, through our Schools and Nulungu Centre for the Indigenous Studies, offers excellence in teaching, research and in valuing the community based Indigenous knowledge.
Students are admitted to Notre Dame through an application made directly to the University. The University is not a member of either of the tertiary admissions centers in Western Australia or New South Wales (TISC or UAC), but have close relations with the Board of Studies in NSW and the Curriculum Council of WA. Each student who applies is personally interviewed and their school and community achievements as well as their grades are taken into consideration.
The University’s three campuses, in Sydney, Fremantle, and Broome are strikingly beautiful and quite convenient. They provide an ideal setting for a first-class university experience.
