Undergraduate Degree:
All US universities require 16 years of undergraduate education for MBA programs. That is, almost all universities want four years of education after High School or Junior College.
If a student has done a three year degree program from an Indian, New Zealand and Australian university or such similar three year degree programs, then student will not be eligible for admission to most MBA programs at USA. Student would require a professional four-year degree like engineering or other such courses for MBA.
Students with Three-year Graduate Program
If a student has completed a three-year degree program like BCom , BSc, BA, from an Australian, Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Sri Lankan universities, then the advisable plan of action for these students is to maximize eligibility by doing a Post Graduate degree like MSc, MA or Mcom, before going for business schools in USA.
Also, a one-year university affiliated program will cover up the eligibility for the fourth year required. The key point is to ensure that the programs a student do is a recognized university program.
Work Experience:
US Universities are differing in their approach of selecting the students. Most US universities recommend or require a minimum of two to three years of work experience while some universities may accept you without any work experience but generally preference will be given to candidates with previous work experience.
